What you can write

Anything you would say to God: thanks, requests, confessions, doubt, anger. Anger at God is welcome here.

What is not allowed in open letters:

• attacks on people, or on groups because of their religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or anything else they are;
• threats of violence;
• anything that exposes someone else: their name alongside private details, their address, their secrets.

Anyone can report an open letter. Reported letters are taken off the public archive and reviewed. We may remove any open letter that breaks these rules or the law.

License

When you send an open letter, you dedicate it to the public domain under CC0 1.0. Anyone may copy and reuse it without asking. This does not waive your privacy rights, and you can still withdraw it from our archive.

No promises about the recipient

We keep your letter and publish it as described. We make no claim about who, if anyone, reads it. This site is not a religious organisation and is not tied to any faith.

Not a crisis service

If you are in danger, please contact local emergency services or a helpline. We show helplines where we can, but no one here reads or answers letters.
